Your posture isn’t bad—it’s just tired

Have you ever caught yourself leaning forward over your laptop or scrolling your phone with your shoulders practically touching your ears? We’ve all been there.

These tiny moments might seem harmless, but over time they build up — creating what I like to call “the posture trap.”

When your posture drifts off balance day after day, your body starts to adapt.
👉 Your neck and shoulders tighten to keep your head supported.
👉 Your lower back stiffens to stabilize your spine.
👉 Even your pelvic floor can tense up as your core muscles try to compensate.

The result? Achy shoulders, tension headaches, fatigue, and sometimes even pelvic or back pain that seems to appear out of nowhere.

But here’s the good news — posture isn’t about “standing up straight” all day. It’s about variety and awareness. Small, consistent changes can make a huge difference.

Here are a few simple ways to start breaking the posture trap today:
Change positions often. Every 30 minutes, stand up, stretch, or walk for a minute. Squats or jumping jacks are even more fun :)
Check your setup. Your screen should be at eye level, and your feet flat on the floor. Sit on your sit bones.
Breathe. Deep belly breathing relaxes your neck and shoulders and supports your core. So do it intermittently throughout the day.
Strengthen, don’t stiffen. Core-focused movement like therapeutic Pilates builds endurance and balance for your spine.
