“As a holistic physical therapist and pelvic floor therapist I understand the complexity of pelvic health, a topic that often goes unnoticed but is crucial for overall well-being”

— Dr. Olga

Pelvic Floor in All Genders

The pelvic floor is a network of muscles, ligaments, and connective tissue that supports your bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs. When this system is not functioning properly, it can cause pain, weakness, or tension that affects every aspect of daily life—from movement and digestion to intimacy and emotional comfort.

At Holistic Physical Therapy and Pilates, we provide inclusive pelvic floor care for ALL GENDERS addressing the full spectrum of pelvic floor dysfunction through gentle, evidence-based, and holistic methods.

Navigating Pelvic Pain with Understanding

Pelvic Pain

Pelvic pain can appear as sharp, aching, or burning discomfort—sometimes constant, sometimes activity-related. It may stem from muscular tension, nerve irritation, scar tissue, endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory conditions, or post-surgical changes.
Biomechanical factors such as poor posture, prolonged sitting, work position, or even breathing discoordination can also contribute to pelvic floor tension and discomfort.

Painful Intimacy (Dyspareunia)

Pain during or after sexual activity can affect individuals of any gender. It may be related to pelvic floor muscle tension, hormonal changes, scar tissue, or emotional stress. Sometimes, pelvic pain can also be connected to past trauma or traumatic experiences, as the pelvic area is closely tied to the body’s root energy center and emotional grounding.

Incontinence (Bladder or Bowel Leakage)

Incontinence, or the loss of bladder or bowel control, can result from pelvic floor weakness, tension, childbirth, surgery, or prostate-related procedures. Sometimes, simple observation and adjustment of fluid intake—such as timing, type, or quantity—can significantly reduce symptoms and support bladder control.

Constipation & Bowel Disfunction

Constipation may occur when the pelvic floor is too tight or uncoordinated, making bowel movements difficult. Chronic straining can also weaken these same muscles over time. Part of treatment focuses on learning how to manage intra-abdominal pressure effectively through proper breathing and muscle coordination to support healthy elimination and pelvic balance.

Organ Prolapse (Bladder, Uterine, or Rectal)

Organ prolapse occurs when weakened support structures allow pelvic organs to shift or descend, leading to heaviness, pressure, or discomfort. Managing intra-abdominal pressure is especially important in these cases to prevent worsening of symptoms and to support long-term pelvic stability and comfort.

Male Pelvic Health

Pelvic health is just as vital for men. We provide specialized care for:

  • Post-prostatectomy rehabilitation – restoring bladder control, pelvic coordination, and confidence after surgery.

  • Peyronie’s disease – utilizing shockwave therapy (SWT), fascia and scar-tissue release, and circulation-focused manual therapy to improve comfort and tissue health.

  • Penile pain and scrotal pain – addressing muscular tension, nerve irritation, and fascial restrictions that may contribute to pain or hypersensitivity.

  • Sexual dysfunction related to nerve or muscle imbalance – restoring blood flow, muscle coordination, and nervous system regulation to improve function and comfort.

  • Pudendal neuralgia and chronic pelvic pain syndrome – using gentle myofascial release, nerve gliding, postural integration, and stress regulation techniques to relieve pain and reduce nerve irritation.

Our goal is to normalize the conversation around male pelvic health and provide a safe, respectful, and professional environment for healing.
